With a building like this, assuming each color represent its own material, it would seem the most appropriate solution is to texture them using uv island stacking and tiling textures? Even with rather low Texel Density (64px / m), the full building unwraps to around 8~9 UV coordinates; I don't see any other solutions,…
Seeking an environment artist for Pallas of Vines. This is work-for-hire remote collaboration. It is a small budget indie project but I am happy to negotiate a good rate. Much environment work has already been done, but we need an additional artist to speed things up. See WIP screenshots here:…
First test renders of baseplates. Too much edge wear and not enough dirt in some places. But the base is ready and it's great. Want to share one method of creating simple signs when you don't know vector graphics or don't like it. It's kinda strange and stupid, but it works. 1. Model a sign. I used Plasticity for that. It…
Alo polycounters, tis been a while! I recently finished up on Tony Hawk Project 8 (PS2), and am taking a break. Thought I would give characters another go, this time with a focus on next gen polycounts and learning normal maps (hopefully) Final target tri count is 5 - 7 k. Hows my topology? Is it starting to look like her?…
In maya you can select using constraints like flipped normals, n-gons, etc. Is there a similar feature in 3ds max. It's the one thing that I really cant find a quick way of doing in max that I'm use to doing quickly in maya.
yeah, if i had a head or something i should make mirrorred i would use smart object, nice shot! One thing that Photoshop could have is recognize tiling painting, like when you paint the brush outside it would paint the left side, like it would be continue from top-bottom and left-right
Ohh.. i didn't mentioned: i'm from europe and i was assuming something like "certified schools" for a big deal of areas and also 3D exists for other countries, especially the U.S. ; but it seems one can do a lot without proper training/education/qualification there but has to deal with any consequences like not finding…
I've been trying...and trying...and trying to get a shading effect like this, but am getting nowhere. MR with skylight + portals, brute-force Final Gather calculations (interpolation set to zero, and takes several hours to finish) Scanline with Light Tracer, even GI from the V-Ray demo and nothing comes close. I need this…
