This is my own bias but I would personally avoid using len's flare or treat it like an afterthought instead of something central. While the effect is realistic, it makes an artwork look like you're staring directly into the sun or a bright light source, which is something we almost never do in real life. :/ -

Hey ae looking good so far. Agree with shep about the roof, check the bottom of the tiles in this pic. In regards to the texture compression with UE what I found to work was setting the LOD bias of the texture to -2. You can find the setting when you double click a texture in the generic browser. -

I have same . I think I messed up my eyes staring at those magic eye pictures. One eye doesnt focus as well or as quickly as the other, its a bit lazy. It could be genetic though, our faces do have a left right symmetry bias, so why not the colours. -

Mallet, Flatten and Claytubes for the build up of the shape. Polish to...well, polish the edges and such, or Trim, pending on which you need, but they're all weighted anyhow. Alpha's to break and add detail. Slash to create the dents and cracks. Depth bias, etc, in your move or standard brush to separate and move edges… -

Light Bleeding - Light Propogation
Hey people, I'm getting a light bleed issue on my environment. I had a similar issue before with my walls and I manged to fix them by increasing the thickness of my walls and tweaking the shadow bias. Unfortunately, i can't increase the thickness on the gun or the "paper" (flat planes). Is there a way around this? Thanks,… -

Actually you want to switch the texture sampler from bilinear to point filtered to get blockiness - and you want to KEEP the mip maps, and bias them down to the lower levels. (Mip maps contain the smaller textures, without them it would be all sharp & sparkly - too next gen for you :) ) -

Set up gestures for everything man...takes me no time at all with Maya. You need a good amount of time on both too really judge either without bias. Max, which I cut my teeth on and I still use frequently feels really basic now. /sadface -

I'd move to Montreal ASAP if you're interested in becoming one of the 500 "permanent staff". If you know how Canadian subsidies work, they'll will prioritize Quebecois residents first (maybe with a bias towards non bi-linguals).
