Ya, I didn't notice that seam until you pointed it out, thankyou ! I was thinking about doing another brick wall similar, but with a different brick pattern to break up the repetition, right now that is only one model duplicated to make those walls.
It feels to me that the mortar is protruding past the bricks in your wall texture. Particularly in the painted area. I think it's the effect of shadows on the upper ridges of the bricks. Was that your intention? Also, am I reading the model of the Aircon correctly in that the fan will be spinning? I like that detail.
I really like the underside of the bridge layout in the bricks, especially with the depth variation. Is that done using normals or geo? curious about how your wires look as well as how you are setting these trims up, looks like a lot of detail. Very nice bricks :)
I like the new thumbnail of your characters. I got some more time to take another look through your stuff and have some more things to note. * Characters Most of your character renders have noticeable aliasing between the subject matter and the backgrounds. I'm not sure what software you're using to make your shots, but it…
Here's a stylized plaster/brick walll I've been working on in Substance Designer. It's not quite finished yet, I still have some cracks to add and the bricks need a lot of work but I think it's coming along nicely. Stylized Plaster Wall: GIF:
Ha, awesome! I've been thinking of doing this too at some point, also inspired by vesner. I think the brick needs more holes caused from air bubbles during the brick-baking process, and the toolbox latch is too dull for how clean it is.
Good start! I see a problem with the brick shapes though, I see the same thing in beginner's textures, every brick is shaped to fit exactly with their neighbors like puzzle pieces. I'd do a paint over but I'm at work right now :P
[ QUOTE ] nice, the round edges make it more realistic, but you should add some single bricks [/ QUOTE ] Yeah I just finished adding some more bricks to the busted wall and cleaning up the geometry and optimizing the low poly even more.
So you went into projection master? I tried making a tileable brick wall in zbrush where I had 4 bricks as separate subtools cause my computer was laaaaaaging. Then I lay them against a plane for the grout. So is your method any different?
Hey all. So I'm currently working on lightmap UVs for a brick wall (where each brick is modeled) and there's a lot of verts for me to snap manually. Was wondering if anyone knows a faster way to, or a script that will snap all of the selected verts to their closest grid intersection?
