Unfortunately that's because everyone in Source-land only cares about XSI mod tool and other commercial apps. No one's really stepped up to the plate to write working SMD import/export plugins. Ever. And anyone on the Blender dev side of things would say 'code it yourself'. Meh
Unless it's been updated, I believe the texturing is the same as applying textures to walls in a level editor. You apply it to the object, or a selection of faces, then scroll and scale the texture into position. The texture for that gun confused me for a sec. When I import an SMD (view model) it has no texture. I manually pick the 3 textures that the model uses, but I can't assign them to the proper places. How do I get them to appear in the right places? I'm using wunderboy's importer, but I don't understand his fix for this. I really need help.

i forgot to mention you need to convert to editable poly before this export process. if its editable mesh, the fbx will include the triangulation. there is also a preset dialogue at the top of the exporter for mud box. if your really having problems just use that or an obj, or give me one sec and ill just upload the mudbox…
