Softimage would only be practical to start learning if you want to work at a Japanese studio or a studio that currently uses Softimage. It's actually a great package, a nice mix of Maya and 3ds Max, but sadly didn't have a large enough user base, and Autodesk pretty much bought it and let it slowly die before they killed… -

Yeah, it sucks big time. Apparently they might just be "refocusing" though and coming back later. They don't outsource any of their animation and rather hire all of their Japanese animators full time, so it is partially why they are struggling a bit. Textures aren't reading very well for me and it looks like your uv's are all unique. If your environment is going to be overgrown some of these arches could be partially obscured, mirroring uv's will enable sharper, lower res textures and as a result higher frame rates. Japanese arch… -

I´d get the 360 and wii combination. I will when the wii is released in bigger quantities here in sweden, it´s kind of hard to get one right now Already have a 360 and i must say. Xbox is king when it comes to games. Especially for me. I´ve never really liked the japanese games. -

awesome quality.. i like how the artist has a theme going. Has anyone seen the movie "battle Royal"? If you have, then these pics should remind you of it a little. Go rent that movie if you can. Basicly its the "Running man" / "lord of the flies" with japanese school kids killing each other to survive a game. -

I always switch the voices to Japanese, it helps quite a bit, as far as annoying cheesiness goes. Loving it so far, it's damn good looking, online is smooth as butter and the create a character is fun to mess around it. Yay for being able to make the main character from your own game (well, a reasonable facsimile i guess): -
