Look's really nice Andre, I was a big fan of your old layout though, I still prefer it, but layout wise It's still top quality, the art work does all the speaking naturally. I would consider darkening the area on the text where you explain what you did, It's a bit hard to read on some of the screenshots. KEWLBEANZ!
It's not a lightmap issue, it's my primary UV and I only have one uv channel on this mesh. It's just that UDK doesn't seem to update the uv along with the geometry of this mesh, as if he had stored the uv at some point and just uses that instead of the right one actually present in the fbx. On the left, the uv layout in…
I finally decided to get my website up and running. This is currently the test page, I'll be moving it over to a .com soon. I wanted to get peoples opinions on the layout. I was essentially going for a simple single page layout. Im not really big into web design so I stuck with IWeb to create it, its very simple and user…
Hey all, Trying to develop a shader that will work at covering seams in certain meshes. The reason for these seams is due to the UV layout - some shells overlap on a "tiling texture" to create the same effect as a tiling texture, but will later be part of an atlas. To show you what I mean: Mesh: UV Layout: Any good methods…
Hi everyone! Me and Sailendra-sp are teaming up to participate in this contest. Sailendra will do the concepts, textures and I will be working on the 3d counterparts. The layout was simplified due to time constraints and my lack of skill at UVing and texturing stuffs. Softwares: -Blender -Photoshop -UDK(Due to my pc's…
.. that makes things easier .. btw what's the standard for uving ? how many uv sets does an average character need ? if i go with another layout for hair then it'll be 3 for me, is that too much ? i should mention that this is a personal work and i want people to see what i'm capable of, so with that in mind if i have a…
I can't really seen how you've made the unwrap on your UV layout above, but I suppose the result looks more like the one on the left than the other on my example below, right? Because from your UV layout I can see many tiny islands, but can't zoom enough to know if it's isolated faces or full elements unwraps.
Thank you for your feedback. I just made this prop to practice texturing so i don´t mind starting over. Here is my new UV Layout. Let me know if this will work better. :) I also changed the Layout to minimize Stretch (as you can see on the handle). I'm not sure if that was a good idea. Let me know what you think.
Like others said, the level artist/designer's role depends entirely on the studio. In some cases its just set dressing and beautification...in other cases is actual layout and design. If you enjoy building scenes and level layout then start doing that in other engines. In particular, get involved in making TF2 levels,…
Here are also few more to add on my side :P Same thing - I did only Level Art pass, which included terraforming, vegetation placement, props and architecture layout, road layout and overall composition of several maps. Since FarCry was a huge collaborative effort of many people, the work was also shared in some areas with…
