Hey. This is my texture so far. Im not to satisfied with it, so I would love some suggestions on how to improve it. Paintovers are very welcome if you have time for it. I would like to make it a little more gritty and detailed. I usually use the "cloud filter" and paint som highlights to it, for some variation, but it…
Another little update, the walls are done with tileables using vertex blending to get variation, same with the ground and some of the bricks. Planning to make some tweaks to some of the materials to get them closer to the ref, especially the back walls. --- Will have to make some more tweaks and then get onto some clouds…
I would say that you can make your clouds a little more interesting, different tones and shape. So they still look wispy, but add to your composition. I dunno why there is green back light on your rocks. and it would be cool to see some highlights on the pine trees on the cliff from the moon.
Thanks! Yeah, the comments I've received have definitely helped me improve. I finally replaced my render clouds placeholder stucco/plaster texture with something real. Here it is in the scene. It's still a bit noisy I think, but after placing the other props on the walls and lighting, it probably won't even be noticeable.
It doesn't help that cubemaps simulate objects as if they were at infinity. You can't really do much outside of using reflections of simulated clouds which is just a waste of time for something like this, easiest I figure would be to use a higher frequency cubemap *shrug*, maybe someone else will come up with something…
wow that looks great keen! which DVD was this? only thing that doesn't match the overall style is the clouds, not to say they look bad, but just looking at the textured state of the rest. it does offer a contrast being that way though, the bottom half being painted one way, top half another. good job man
"That's a piecrust promise. Easily made, easily broken." "Kindly do not attempt to cloud the issue with facts. " "Close your mouth please, Michael, we are not a codfish. " "What he's famous for is punctuality. The world takes its time from Greenwich. But Greenwich they say, takes its time from Admiral Boom." come…
The textures are very noisy and cloud like. Wear is normally not uniform like it is in your textures. And not every edge needs to be highlighted. You did a great job on being modular and reusing texture space though. Also the specular highlights look too blue, since it's painted metal, I would expect the highlights to be…
Fixed the traps, tweaked the mesh in various places and buffed up the legs. I want to keep him more athletic than bulky, but I´m glad you guys are giving me some advice. About the build...I doubt Cloud from Final Fantasy could even lift his sword.
Alright some updates. -I created a rock terrain texture to help with some blending. -Re-did the environment with in a smaller scale I feel the scene is coming together. Things i need -sky -clouds -Props (fences, light posts, graveyard) if anyone has any suggestions to this i would be really grateful.
