I believe switcher, by draster lets you do this just like maya. rather than using drag i find it easier to set ther transform space to screen. alt-rightclick, select screen. then hide the transform gizmo with 'x' works just like drag, but also works for scaling and rotating. (scaling needs the gizmo) -

max doesnt really have a freeze transforms tool. like mayas you can switch between the local and global etc movement with the dropdown in the pic. when you are done a model, it is a good idea to reset the xform with the xform modifier to clear out the vert transform info, in that way its kinda like ft in maya. -

More than likely the object has been non-uniformly scaled and it needs to be reset. If you go to the hierarchy tab you can reset scale and transform. Or use the reset xform utility (not the modifier) which will also reset the scale and transform data as well as realign the pivot to the world so watch out for that, if the… -

thank you for the help, we managed to do it, the spirit bear works, (we had problems at animations.. ) and for the ultimate you need to modify your game files so when the druid transforms it transforms into your new model not the old one (btw doing that you can play normal games with your new true form). -

Just a remark and heads up, edited normals doesn't work well with mirroring and symmetry, at least in max. Reseting the transformations doesn't help. So if you are working with a model that has mirrored or symmetry-ed parts, then its better to collapse this, and reset the transformations, and editing the normals just then.… -

The standard ZBrush transform gizmos are great, but it'd be really handy to have some standard tools in there as an alternative. They've already got a fairly janky transform set up if you turn off "edit", but I don't think there's any way to use it at a sub tool level. Would be great to see that improved and implemented… -

Hey all, Just a small WIP model about 5000 triangles, still not finished with the shape and I want to make him transform so he'll need lots of tweaking. I'm hoping to put him into Unreal 3 as a transforming planet using matinee and release a player character too. Loving some of the sculpts in here :-) -

You're a brave person making edits like that and relying on an ancient tool that will probably stop working in a release or two.
