Did you have more 3+ vertices selected before? The "cut through connect" only works with two vertices. Otherwise it tries to connect pairs, same as original behavior.
@Computron: Barring any large show stoppers, 2-3 months. It's slated for 2.63. As is, it's mostly stable, but some of the tools still need a bit of work before primetime (including the bevel and knife tools).
Anyone here know if there's some sort of plugin to get a better translation gizmo? I love the way Max has this pyramid thing that lets me choose whether I wanna move along 1,2 or 3 axes:
Agreed. Best alternative to industry standard tools you can get for free. Every new build is like Christmas morning and development moves much faster than Max or Maya. There must be a new version every 2-3 months with a panoply of new features.
Re nondestructive bending: I used to use Pior's script to make Simple Deform less shit too, way back when, but now I hacked together a Geometry Nodes group that does the trick for me It automatically sets the bending direction to whichever axis is the longest, and can automatically center it to x, y or z (for stuff like…
That's good to hear. Maybe I have the wrong impression. Obviously there are at least a few very talented coders working on blender, and a lot of artists I respect in this thread also. I do hope that all the changes he mentions, and also a revamp of the windows happens for v. 3 -- at that point I think I could recommend it…
Awesome! BMesh is good stuff. Don't know if this has been mentioned in this thread, but check out this awesome Blender-to-Cryengine 3 add-on tool being created by a chap going by the handle angjminer: Cryblend Thread on crydev.net He's been making impressive progress in the past few days and wants to develop the tool to a…
Also I know my school was looking to implement blender, and I have heard of some other schools that already have implemented it, not as a replacement for one of the big three programs, more of an extension of the big 3, because not all students can afford one of those 3 programs (even with student discounts) I feel like…
Just gave blender 2.5 alpha2 a go. Sculpting was...well, its no Sculptris. Painting I couldn't figure out how to view the model with flat shading, and the brush size/strength don't seem to have a way to unify them? UI also went a little crazy on me with everything overlapping and becoming a garbled mess (and not properly…
