that couldn't be achieved by 4 quads? Ah I see he made some broken grate. So as a modular piece, that broken grate repeating make sense? Just wondering. I'd use a decal or something.

I'll prolly put the piece in UDK or UNITY to show you guys how it really looks in a game engine. The result may be what you guys are looking for since my spec isn't showing as much as it really should (I rendered it with a phong in Maya). I'll update as soon as possible. Ty for the comments ! :)
No I didn't :P I just googled "sci fi floor" and took picture that I liked. Then I made a "concept/mood-board" which I had on a plane in Maya when I made my HP.
So I followed the tutorial and did some changes to the diffuse/specc and normal, and I got happy with the results. What do you guys think, any crits? Sincerely Hydro
You should look at how he made this again... Anyway, apart from what others have said I have no crit. Really like the approach to this though. Look forward to seeing it with updated textures.
