You seem to ask for a lot of scripts :P Just fyi, even if there isn't a script for this it's completely doable in mel, just would take a day or two to put together.
Autocon, a script like that in Maya would be a godsend! Done it manually so many times, never did a find a script that worked like the one you posted. Also Toddiej, that sounds like a familair technique I think I heard about relating to UVing race tracks, will deffo give it a try.
So I have just started trying out UVing again in Maya after like a million years of not using it. Loving RoadKill for most things but I was wondering if there are any scripts or easy ways to unwrap strips into a perfect grid like fanshion much like UV Strip Straightener for Max? I basiclly want to be able to do this exact…
Uvdeluxe has a pretty nice straightening feature. Although not exactly like that. It's available on creative crash. Pretty good all around script that adds a lot of uv functionality that should be in maya by default
UV Deluxe is a must have for uv editing in maya, and there are some nice tools in maya bonus tools for UV editing too. http://www.creativecrash.com/maya/downloads/scripts-plugins/texturing/c/uvdeluxe http://area.autodesk.com/bonus_tools
