   so they changed the scale tool in Unwrap UVW max 2012 to be more like a freeform adjust in both horizontal and vertical instead of scaling uniformly ? My mind can't wrap around why they would change this. -anyone have a workaround/fix to be able to scale uv faces uniformly?

   enable % snap on the main UI, and then in the uvw window, you can scale up 10 times in 1 continuous click/drag :) (so scaling up by 10*10% => 100% )

   I want to scale my unwrap to exactly 2 times in my UVWUnwrap Window. I dont want to scale by hand and use trial and error method. What should I do? I cant find any type-in box in the unwrap window (like the one that can be found by right clicking on the scale button in the main max viewport). I am using 3DSMax 2009....

   Hate, hate, hate the way the new unwrap is, horrible, when you go to close It, It's lags so badly. I can crash anything not that it doesn't take much for max to crash.    after you click and hold to start scaling, just press and hold the ctrl key and it will scale uniformly.

   yeah i was gonna say... i just unwrapped something last night and i dont remember scale tool acting like that at all.

   Personally I think its a good solution. All functions of scale under one tool. Just mod keys to alter it...

   if you hold ctrl + alt it behaves like the old tool would. I don't think there is a way to set that as default. In fact I don't think you can set any new defaults in the UV editor for things like relax or pack dialog menus. I think setting new hotkeys works but any other defaults, forget it.     I hate that too! The only disadvantage in the new unwrap tools out of the many good new features..
