I think I finally have a good grasp of modular building. I pulled my hair out a lot but well worth it. There isn't much done yet, and if you don't feel like commenting on it, just wait and I will get some more done tonight.
Its a cool start but it feel a little plain maybe trying to break the border of the windows/door with cracked bricks or something. I am trying the modular approach on a building myself its fun stuff keep it up!
hello nice work with your custom building , I have done a sort of basic one with modular piece on UE4 but I have line in the interior of the building it looks like th exterior is lighted per the directional light so none seam appear but in the interior this is bad... this is just a test before I start the project but want…
Nice progress, looks way better from the first image. I'm not sure if any of your textures are final yet, but I think you should model some bricks and bake out a normal map rather than just using a picture with a normal map filter thrown on top of it. The texture looks nice on a distance but looks muddy on the last image…
I had a bit of a family emergency and couldn't get to this for some time. I worked on this today and just need to set the uv's for lightmass, start the normal maps and give it a try in udk.
@nordahl154 The brick is 100% image sourced. The color is something I should explore. @redhart I did a test run inside of 3d max and the problem I saw was that things are too perfect. I was thinking about adding graffiti or an old advertisement painting. But cracks and grime could be a good decal to add. I hope to get more…
@P442 I thought something looked odd about the two doors... major scaling issue. @grayln I was thinking about using some meshes like a ladder, drainage pipes, and maybe some metal braces on the side. Also forgot to mention my texture is bare bone, no spec map or normal map or anything like that, I am in need of serious…
already done ^^ but 128 should be enough no ? it was 32 by default .. this is weird because when I Unlit there is no seam noticeable just when light is on in interior this is just bad :( (
