Dan! : Fantastic set of toons! Looking forward to seeing more from you. XenoKratios : That's a good style to work in. To get nice edges, you might try Flatten, followed by hPolish.
Yeah that's pretty much the base. It's a composite of light-angle two tone from the Toon menu, Contours from Mental Ray and a bit of AO as well. After that the colour, details and lighting tweaks are done in Photoshop.
Definitely the first one, the higher angle on the other pics is kinda wierd and doesn't really help the character IMHO, and the toon shading is nice. There seems to be some issues with the back of her ears though, most noticeably on the second shot.
Razorb - hhnnnggg, I love your stuff man, it oozes swag. Mgrecke - that thing is sweet! how big is the texture and do you plan on animating it? makecg - nice model! I think you should render him with a toon shader
Looks pretty good. In idle i think he should be breathing and maybe his mouth should be moving as well. He'll need eye blinks and an angry morph when he slams his fist down. Overall though, pretty neat toon.
What sort of thing are you after? A simple toon ramp? I wrote this a while back... might do what you're after to an extent. http://www.unifycommunity.com/wiki/index.php?title=TeamFortress2Shader If you need something different, let me know and I can whip up a shader for you.
Well... I'm working on this guy, for my first 3D game, which is aimed to be played by both laptop gamers and desktop gamers, and also be an anime-styled sci-fi 3rd person shooter. He'll be there as a rescue-able NPC actually. NOTE: as much as I'd like to apply toon shader on this character, but doing so might disappoint…
