There will be a Warcraft 4, once WoW looses to many people and Blizzard no longer sees the green rolling in they will just drop the production for World of Warcraft. They can't keep the expansions up forever you know. Then they will go back to the strategy fans which they abandoned with the creation of World of Wacraft.…
it's not a case of abandoning wow. it's that both games lores are tied together so heavily. anything they've implimented into wow affects the lore of a new warcraft game. and since wow is "constantly evolving", lore wise, placing warcraft 4 into the continuum would be very difficult.
You basically try to make your character as powerful as possible, and search for harder fights to challenge the character. It's the same sort of reason players try to solo raid bosses in Warcraft, made into the game's primary focus.
I think it might be bit a early for anyone to comment about the D3 story, we've seen 3 cinematics and thats it, and none of them really spoils the story in any way. Sense of originality... meh. The story in D2 was as far as I'm concerned pretty cookie cutter and didn't really have as much depth translated to me as I had…
And you can keep your diablo your way anyhow, it's still sad that they chose to do this, ui-modding in world of warcraft was both popular and flexible and most likely also a part of what made it so popular. Similar to wc3 and its modding.
Yeah, I know. It's a bit sad when all they see is "world of warcraft!!" whenever someone does a diffuse-textured game, when torchlight is ten times the more stylistic "cartoony" style compared to diablo3 and still manage to pull of a fantasticly dark and broody world.
