I have some video tutorials from the old CDG days that Jennifer did. They take you right from the start of creating a rig and animating a weapon to export to CS:S in 3ds Max. If your interested then i can see about uploading them.

model a gun -- or better yet, go into the showcase forum and find people working on gun models -- and use any free rig that has decent hands (i'd use something like norman, if you're working in maya).
Any chance some one could export these as .fbx so that a maya user could use them? I would love to mess about with the first two rigs from this site. http://daellum67.com/rigs/index.htm I have found tones of arm rigs, all of which are .max files, the one format I can't use. thanks.
