Anyone know of any good hand + gun rigs

Hello everyone,

I am an aspiring animator who will hopefully be attending Animationmentor very soon, as you may know it is a course focused specifically on character animation. I would also like to get to know weapon animation.

I was wondering if this amazing commnity could point me in the direction of some free downloadable rigged Arms + hands and also some weapons.

I would greatly apprichiate this, thanks.

http://www.udk.com/ had a rigged first person POV arm and gun setup along with their other rigs, but I'll be damned if I can find it right now.

Check out the source one's. Pretty sure you need to decompile them though not sure if they're rigged and ready to go. Best answer would be from Sparkwire.

I have some video tutorials from the old CDG days that Jennifer did. They take you right from the start of creating a rig and animating a weapon to export to CS:S in 3ds Max.

If your interested then i can see about uploading them.

i think the crysis and doom3 modding SDK's came with 1st person weapon setups as max and maya scenefiles.
though nothing particularly fancy if i recall right.

hm, no...? looks like a combination of camera and 1st person weapon animation to me.

what do you need in a gun rig other than the link to the hand-bones and controls to animate the weapon's moving parts? should be straighforward, really.

the only bit that differs from software to software that seems relevant is the temporary link of the secondary hand to the gun. that would be tedious when done manually but iss trivial to do in tools like character studio.

model a gun -- or better yet, go into the showcase forum and find people working on gun models -- and use any free rig that has decent hands (i'd use something like norman, if you're working in maya).

Any chance some one could export these as .fbx so that a maya user could use them?

I have found tones of arm rigs, all of which are .max files, the one format I can't use.
