Don't get discouraged man, you'll soon find out that getting attached to models will ruin you, you have to always see things as "how can I get better with this model" (and also, have fun) thus, thinking that you're gonna get it right off the bat from the beginning (with low experience) is unreal. Guns [W.I.P]
I have been working on this lot since yesterday, this is the first attempt high poly modelling using 3ds max and i am going to bake it down to around 3000 polys. Critiques needed. By the way it is the Sig P226 Front Front Wireframe Rear Rear Wireframe After i finish this I will attempt another gun -

Since the 3ds max file for the sig p226 won't open :poly127: i started to make the Mac-11 i've been working on it all day. This is the high poly and i'm going to bake it down, once it's finished. -

I actually just modeled one of these a few months ago and found some awesome reference images for the gun at http://www.pixagogo.com/8682754113 Razgriz is right, modeling everything in separate pieces is definitely the way to go. Just model the parts separately, as if they can be field stripped and taken apart, that's how guns are put together, it'll make your life much easier that way. -

with all due respect, if you feel discouraged or bothered by having to pay attention to detail, you're going to have to change your attitude entirely. Otherwhise, hardsurface will do your head in, comrade. -
