Thanks for the reply Ivars, im using maya 8.0, I can transfer the vertex positions but not the vertex normals, have you had this work before? wouldnt the vertex numbers on the sphere kind of have to match the vertex numbers on the tree?
Hey all, Im looking for a vertex normal script for maya which allows me to be able to project all vertex normals outwards from a center origin. I want to use it for adjusting vert normals on low poly trees, I know about the edit vert normals tool for maya but its pretty crap. Thanks in advance :)
Ah, it's only available since 2k8 I think, which has the additional option of transferring vertex normals. The numbers don't need to match, since it's using a ray-check method. I've used it for similar applications (alpha hair) and it works really well.
