so i'm doing this contract which involves me working with 3dsmax, which i know very little of, i've got all the basics down, but there are a couple things i'm not quite getting. what should i be keyframing? i'm not able to set any keys using the set key mode when trying to use it on the biped, nor am i able to adjust any… -

When working with biped, the large set key button is useless. Either rotate the object a tiny bit and rotate it back (works great if you have rotate snap on) OR use the set key button in the biped "Key Info" rollout. Agreed, and since you can't use it where it counts (hands/feet) why bother. It was added to silence (and punish) the masses who would rather bitch then learn how they designed it to work originally. As such a feature, I'm sure they could create a true conversion but won't. One more thing that makes life with biped easier,… -

This isn't a good idea with Biped in Max 8. Biped tends to break very easily in Euler mode so I'd stay away from it.
