Edge loops for elbows and knees
Hey forums! I'm tasked with re-modeling a character for a prototyping assignment we have at school. The first model had some errors when it came to rigging - the knees and elbows just werent deforming correctly. Are there any tricks out there that I should know about before tackling this again? I do understand the concepts… -

I agree that having 2 full loops is better, but also wanted to show that just having 1 doesn't always mean that it'll end up looking terrible (as suggested on Ben Mathis's site). -

I would check your hand is attached to your arm, not your ass, inside of which another part of your body seems to be. If you want to try and make smart comebacks, make sure you at least say something else worthwhile during the thread. Last I checked, my arm had fingers, but whatever. A single edge to 'collapse' into will only work if the joint is placed at the optimal position. Generally you'll want to reuse rigs and animations so multiple characters will need to share the same rig. It is better to build it with the two collapsing edges, rather than… -

Arm: the upper limb of the human body, esp. the part extending from the shoulder to the wrist. I'm wrong. Whatever. Does anyone have anything else to contribute to the thread? Actually, the fingers, or phalanges, are attached to the metacarpals, which make up the hand, one side of which is considered the palm.
