Modularity
Hey everyone! Im currently attending the Art Institute of California-OC. This is my first post here. I've been working on this piece for a class. This is my first attempt using modularity. This is still a work in progress. I also includeda render of the props I put in this scene. All feedback is welcome. -

Vega this is looking solid buddy. Can you post your modular pieces when you have a chance, I'm interested in seeing how you used them. Texturing is nice and clean as well, keep up the great work :) -

its good except that the main tiling textures are too consistently dirty, leaving the scene as a whole noisy and hard to read, if you could split them up into more types (clean, very damaged section, dirty etc) to add some variation the whole thing would be much better. you could use the "thirds" principal on the walls.… -

Hey Jose, they looks great so far as a WIP project! Personally, I think most of your textures are great - Except the floor one that is on the edge of the stairs and the upper level wall. They need more dirts and be more dirty like other stuff. Also, if the scene has been there for a while, you might want to add some yellow… -

Tumerboy I'm adding benches, trash cans, and a few plants to show scale. Thanks for the feedback. Very helpful. As for my lighting I need to practice on that more. That's probably what I find myself having more problems with. I will make the changes and post my progress. Thank you again. -

I want to thank everyone for their feedback. I will certainly be making the changes suggested. I will be posting other work. Working on another environment as well. -

The contrast between the ground texture (which happens to have giant stones, project is smaller) and the all the other materials touching it is too harsh. You need to decide whether you want to stick with warmer or colder tones. The wall texture with the dripping water doesn't mix well with anything else around it, looks… -

I'll Echo Bored's comment of a more dynamic camera angle. One thing that is hurting the sense of scale is the fact that the camera seems to just be floating at an arbitrary point. Take a few different renders from a human being's perspective on the ground somewhere, and I bet it will feel a lot better already. Or, if you… -

Hey JV I agree with what have been said. But there is one thing that really catch my eye - that one odd angled pillar segment. I don't see how it could possibly break/tilt like that, since it would still have contact point at it's top and bottom no matter what. I would say, break the pillar completely OR simply shift that… -

The modeling and texturing looks pretty nice. I have a question though. Why is it only the pillar that is broken? I'd expect a lot of other things to break before the pillar would.
