Huh, never thought to move on W. I always just move on U or V and leave the chunks out there, they map fine that way. But W... so I guess it only bakes between 0 and .999 ? Seems counterintuitive to me, never had a baking problem with various W values.
Press 1 in the w field on the bottom you'll see inputs for u v and w it looks similar to the inputs above the animation timeline where you can input numbers for xyz for the move, rotate and scale, except the uvw inputs are in the unwrap modifier. I did that and it worked for me for any kind of bake in rtt. Alex
Just thought I would share this, though most of you already know it. If you have overlapping uv's and you wannna render out your normal map with RTT in max, to avoid messing up , select one of the elements that overlaps and change the w setting to 1. (you know you have uvw) so in theory one of your elements has 'w' set to…
W huh... weird never thought of doing that. I guess that would make changing both pieces slightly easier. That way you don't have to jocky pieces off to the left/right and back again for changes, then back again for rendering Interesting tip I think I'll start using that!
