dude don't get the alienware. The core 2 duo is by far a better processor. Alienwares are made by dell too fyi so I don't know why they don't come with core 2 duos and the dual gfx cards. I have the 7950 GTX in mine and it is great. Don't know if you saw the link I posted above for the cheap ram on new egg. Under 300 bucks… -

hey man. i went through this in december and looked at so many different laptops. I ended up getting the Dell XPS M1710. The same one you mentioned for a few reasons. I already told you via PM Johny. Lightest thinnest 17" laptop is the HP nw9440. 7900 gt, core 2 duo, etc etc. It's thin, light, and awesome. I love it. -

If you get the nw9440, get the cheapest version, which comes with a single 1 gb stick. Either get a 2nd 1 gb stick if you want 2 total, or get 2x2 for a 4 gb total off newegg. Dang, now it's only 2k for the nw9440. Such a great buy. -

I'm looking at the same as you. At least 2gig of ram, 1.8ghz dual core and at least 120gig space.. but whilst I want it as a desktop replacement, I also don't want a massive screen and a clunky system. I also want less than a 13" screen and less than 2.2kg. The Dell XPS M1210 looks great to me -
