I was thinking the same Sledgy... driver updates for the video and the chipset. Make sure you aren't using MS's drivers, but the ones from the manufacturer. Also, have you checked for patches on the SIM games? They're usually prettey good at that.
skankerzero- i tell you its better just to kidnap them take them to a house where ive set up video cameras and all sorts of traps/events, costs more though
hey hey now, Sims and Sims 2 are great games. There's no better feeling than recreating all my friends and throwing them in a house where I am God. Brings the sadist in all of us out.
updated the drivers still nay...am i that unlucky come on my crappy computer...133 mhz played the damn game !1 its strange , but only EA games seem not to play on my computer HA .... :P
Direct X 8.1? The 4MX is a DX7.0 card, to qualify as DX8 it needs shaders and 8.1 would need PS1.4 support AFAIK (which is the minimum requirement for BF2).
Try a driver update for that Geforce card. You said it yourself though - you have an old ass video card. Always check the minimum system requirements for games that you buy. They list them on the box and they don't just do it for kicks
