Hey gang, Is it possible to convert models/scenes that were created in Maya PLE to Maya 7? I've googled a couple of times and have come up dry. I figure if anyone knows the answer to this its you guys. Thanks!
Well, if you can export into UnrealEd, I'm pretty sure if you place a custom model in the world, there's an option somewhere in UEd to export static geometry as .ASE, which you could probably open in Maya 7. Other than that, the only thing that would work is as Husch says.
Maya PLE does not export .psk files? If yes, you can take the psk plugin of UT2003/4 Upaint application and put it into the plugin directory of right hemisphere´s Deep Exploration. This would allow you to open a .psk file in Deep Exploration which can export to various 3D formats.
FBL format is only used for transfer to the Motionbuilder PLE version. Are there any game tools for Maya PLE that export models in game formats? You might be able to put a mesh into UnrealEd then export it as .ASE and convert, or even use something like Milkshape as an intermediary. There's no way that I know of that you…
