HI, This might be the biggest thing I am currently missing in Maya as a former max user. Imagine situation when i want move some vertices with soft selection in awkward way. In max I just setup my camera angle perpendicularly and use "screen" orientation. That's it. How do you manage in Maya? Thanks for any advice.
You can change axis orientation of the move tool by double clicking the move button and there's a drop down menu in the tool settings. There's world, object, component, normal, and custom. If none of those do what you want the "Transform" tool may be worth a shot. It treats a group of what you're moving as individuals.…
