Arnold can render the hair directly from the xgen descriptions - it's much, much faster than converting to geometry If you really want it as geometry you can use xgen with alembic export to do that (you'll have to check docs cos they move the button every release)
I don't know if xgen splines are the same as a curve (or maybe you can convert them to a curve), but there is a tool in bonus tools called curve to ribbon mesh which would be nice because it gives some handy options for the resulting mesh.
well i'm trying to follow the tutorial for creating hair cards for game use which at this point he turns the splines into geo using the script i mentioned ..it's my first time going for hair cards that's why i'm trying to follow the tutorial, i would've preferred using zbrush fibermesh but i'm not if it's as good as doing…
