more options the better:I had a similar issue with 2016 version and the view port for me the solution was in view port [+] Display performance, increase the resolutions, profit. Works great for me with adding a plane with reference images, hope it works i needed it for the reference and plane stuff.
Hey All, I was wondering if someone out there could help me out a bit with setting up 3DSmax to work with low res (pixel art) textures. The issues that I'm having are: 1: Getting a grid set up in the Unwrap UVW to work off of a 32, 64,128 etc pixel grid size. 2: Viewport looks horrid. I can't see my textures correctly. I…
Confirmed it works in latest version of Max. Not true unfiltered nearest-neighbor filtering though. If you're willing to change the display driver, you can get pure point sampling, and no need for Composite:
No need to change the display driver : Best solution to date in 2023, work in previous Max versions too, : * Create your Material * Inside the texture channel add a "composite map" * Than add inside the composite map a bitmap with filtering set to none
Thank you PolyHertz! That's a big help! For my Unwrap UVW grid being set to 32 pixels, I did some artist math and divided the Checker Tiling (1.0) by 32, which gave me 0.03125 to enter for the grid size. Looking at the grid compared to my texture (as its broken up into 32's) it appears to have worked :D
