Wider padding will take a little longer to render, and generally isn't necessary except in some extreme situations. Wide padding shouldn't cause any problems though, so you can set it as high as you like. Update: I just ran a test on my Windows machine and I did not have the issue. In Windows, Marmoset Toolbag creates padding on both the albedo and the roughness map. It seems that this issue may be isolated to MacOS, and possibly related to the M1.
