So ive decided to make the sherlock holmes pub in London in UE4. Not making it exactly the same as it is in real life, but certainly very similar (: Internets been playing up so i haven't been able to upload the progress of it, so here we go: Started off by modelling the LP exterior: Then started working on some HPs: Got…
Looks great, the interior parallax is kinda bothering me for some reason, could use a bit more depth. With modern GPUs, you could definitely use more than simple parallax for the interior, and it'd look a lot better. But unfortunately I haven't seen any tutorials on how to get simple interior mapping setup in UE4…
For now, heres a quick matinee of what its looking like at the moment (: still early days, but slowly getting to it! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H-rd5X5rIYc&t=1s
Thanks a lot, appreciate your feedback! yeah i thought so as well, took me a little while to figure out what was going on but i had some hidden point lights pointing at it and the windows were reflecting a lot more because it had a low roughness value, but managed to fix it all in the end
I like everything, except the windowframes of the top floor (those cool white-blue ones). The windowpanes and drapes are fine (could be lit from the inside), but it looks odd that the exterior-facing windowframes are receiving more light than... basically anything around them. What's lighting them this much? Looks really…
Man this looks really cool, Im really liking this. The only crit I would have for this piece is the square windows at the top seem a little bright they kind of stick out in the scene a little to much imo.
This is pretty great. Some nice clean modeling there. For the windows, its a bit offputting at how transparent they are. The glass should be reflecting light sources from outside. It almost makes your windows look like they don't have glass, especially at glancing angles when you would expect the most reflection.
