1) Blender is faster to learn, mostly because it has a substantially larger community and far more guides and tutorials. Finding any kind of help for Modo is an incredible chore. Which one would be better for you depends a lot on your needs, preferences, and pipeline. You can also just try them both out. Blender is free, and Modo has a free trial.
