So I got a reminder that it was 10 years ago I did my first Zbrush sculp! Think it was kind of fun to see where I started and where I'm at now. Hope it is okay to bump this old thread! :)
This is (i think) my first ever publicly released character, back when i started out and i was modding JK2:Jedi Academy... Somewhere around 2004? And this is where i'm at now:
@MrHobo damn thats some great progress, didn't know you started doing 3d even before I did! @beefaroni Hahaha that first image is perfect, you progressed so quickly!
Oh believe me I was not very good when I started, I got a lot of priceless screenshots on my hardrive... I've not seen your (very) beginners work Ysalex, but your latest stuff is f*cking amazing :) I envy your anatomical knowledge
@Tits and @beefaroni Thanks! Its pretty great to see how quickly you all leveled up. lol Shit Im starting to feel old and god damn Marie give the rest of us some time to catch up :) @valuemeal Your most recent work has come a long way, congrats.
Funny, I was cleaning my HD a couple of days ago and just went through all my old stuff :D My first homework (create a animal just using primitives) when I started learning CG and my first time using Maya back in October 2013 My first character (pre ZBrush) early 2014 ...and the first ZBrush sculpt back in Sommer 2014…
I think there's an older thread where we did the same thing. Regardless.. My advice would be to really push each and every project as far as you can take it and just keep working on it until it is really finished. Too often I see projects where people will get discouraged at a certain part and either not finish or present…
Hi Polycount! I dug up a very old version of the same character I'm working on now, and compared the two. It was quite invigorating to see the drastic improvement from 4 years ago, and I was wondering if anyone else would be willing to show their first models (or at least, the earliest you still have) vs your most recent?…
