With great power comes great responsibility. Your Karma ran over my Dogma. Etc. It is up to you how to use the tools you're given. Besides, we have more important issues to solve. This feature was a simple "on" switch, low hanging fruit. We'll keep an eye on things. If it makes things worse, we'll turn it off again.
We had a couple people who were sending incessant private messages, pestering people to do free work for them. It was an easy flick of a switch to turn it on, so heck why not? It's not a necessary feature though. We can certainly revoke it if people feel it causes more trouble than it's worth. We want to know how it works…
