Hey I was wondering if anybody could help me out here with this archway for the gryffindor common room. how would I get the texture to look like it does in the image below? Im using a tiling texture for the wall but should i maybe be using dedicated textures for it? here is mine just now here is a ref from the game and…
I just noticed the texture on the fireplace is a different style and doesn't line up with the stonework on the wall? This doesn't really make sense to me as in the films it matches up but looks slightly different due to the effects of the smoke. I think it would look better with the same texture as the walls but with grey…
so something a bit like this? im using substance designer for my materials although the texture is being warped just now is that because of the shape not being right?
You probably have to Model the window as a seperate prop and then fit the smooth shape of the window into a rough hole in the wall (so that the rough edge are invisible behind the prop. Like this: Then you can do whatever you want with it. Keep a lowpoly version that has enough shape, create a high poly sculpt out the…
Nice man! All the props really help add story and interest to the overall scene. They also look really well made. What do you use for prop texturing? I also like the dust particles near the new fireplace!
It's been really cool watching this project come together, I love the idea and your execution. The only real suggestions I have are to make the stone textures holding up the mantle look a bit less flat. Looks really good either way, awesome job!
Looking really nice man! The only thing that looks off to me is the tiling texture ending on the fireplace, but that has been mentioned before. That chair is looking really nice too, having some of your wooden props a little shinier will really add a lot of life I think.
This is coming along great! Lots of nice little details, and good colors overall. It looks a bit odd where the brick above the mantle ends on the diagonal. A bit of geometry detail there would help a lot. Don't just terminate the tiling texture along a hard edge there. Add some brick modeling there. Strange shading error…
It is Unwrapped? The problem is, that you have an arc and it's trying to follow it with the texture. This way i don't think you will get a nice "Stone Arch" feel. What you could try to get the arch is, use this arch as kinda the basis and model single stones (do a lot of copy and paste and symmetry, you can follow the…
