If I remember correctly translucent materials can only sample reflection coming fro SSR is recent version of UE4, or have no reflections at all in older versions. That's a limitation or UE4 unfortunately.
Make sure you add a fill layer at the bottom of your layer stack with a white opacity channel, if not, empty areas (not painted) on your opacity will be filled with black, resulting in a very transparent opacity.For your diffuse color, make sure the texture is set to sRGB in Unreal, and make sure your roughness/metalness…
Adding the white fill layer worked! Thanks man, but I'm still having issues catching light. I do have a sphere reflection capture object in the scene. Any ideas? Cheers,
