Unreal 3 engine can do some pretty things. Who knew? Coming to an update near you, we're sure, are some fun updates to the Unreal engine. A number of the updates showcased in this video (released by Epic) have been in the UDK for a couple months now so consider this video a proper feature overview.…
That scrolling water texture they applied to the vertical static meshes looked terrible to me. Thankfully though, it was the only thing that popped out to me. EPIC seems to doing its best to remain a competitor in the eye candy race.
The amount of triangles in that scene is ridiculous. That flower is denser than the average character. But still, it's a very good demo and presentation.
is that new DOF system actually usable for anything besides the film-making? alot of games in UDK could really stand to get rid of the awful default gaussian blur setup in favor of real DOF.
"I love you UE. Don't ever change." Jimmy, I love the fact that UE keeps getting changes to the engine that 'betterfy' it. Imagine if it didn't change at all? It'd be horrible!! :D
Nice release, but.. Huge depending on lightmaps, make me really upset about Unreal Engine ;/ Wish they implement full-realtime lighting, that works fast ;/.
