Hello, So I had previously made a high poly version of this model and unwrapped and textured it with no problems. This is a lowpoly version and for some reason I cannot seem to get it to relax right. OK I have a sink shape in the midde, but I can relax that separately. The main shape will not relax to have straight edges.…
It just seams like something is not right in the UV. For example if I just select only a few of the polygons and relax them, they do not relax right either. Are there any other functions like reset Xforms I can try?
I use relax all the time and it doesn't usually produce straight edges when there's curved source geometry. Normally I'll straighten the edges a bit afterwards.
Ok, I see it now. I must have unwrapped nicely in high poly because there were enough polys to not cause stretching. I've deleted loops to make the low poly, so the topology is no longer consistent.
If you upload the lowpoly without textures I'll have a look. It's true that you can't expect perfectly straight edges, but some areas look a bit weird indeed.
