Hello, if i want an unwrapped model work in 3ds max and in general aplications, what gutter padding shoudl i choose for 2048*2048 texture? I have read on polycoutn wiki that for 2048 texture at leats 16 px distance between UV island should be done? Is it true, do i need more or less space between each UV island?
Depends. What are you using to render your model? The amount of gutter you need depends on the texture filtering method the game engine/renderer uses, the camera angle you use, and the distance the model is from the camera. Get your model into your renderer sooner rather than later.
