Ooh, nice - thanks for the tutorial! Kind of always eyeball this sort of stuff (with all the troubles that'll naturall ensue). Seems like this process could be scripted quite easily too.
Hey guys! I was discussing the placement of floating geo on more awkward shapes with Joost the other day and came up with a solution which worked pretty well. I haven't seen it anywhere before so I thought I'd do a little write up of the technique. I realise you could really easily do the same using NDo, but I know a lot…
may be my explanation not that full as i expected but lets me clear? I don't know what to do exactly after, be honest wrap and blend shapes deformers ppl not use everyday asset pretty common Hydrant and i want adding some details on top of it and adding some text, so floating geometry was great decision until it should be…
Might worth adding Howies tut which is a very similar way to float detail on curved surfaces without morphs. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FB4iNAy5r88&feature=emb_logo
Did you read the replies? Fingus mentioned how to do it in Maya. What have you tried so far? Also try searching what they've suggested "blend shape and the Wrap Deformer" Let us know how it goes and what you've learned, this contributes to the community and makes it easier for others trying to do similar tasks. Best of…
Hi guys, someone can explain how this would work in Maya, I am trying several solutions but I don't know, maybe i doing it wrong, but it doesn't work, may be someone can explain same workflow for maya step by step
Mr Digital: Yup, theoretically it should work on any surface, although like I said it's less effective on really curved surfaces. It's really well suited to raised text or symbols on trickier shapes. Joost: No worries!
