If you're fairly new to 3D then I totally understand your want to see how someone might approach the exact thing you trying to create. An there is merit in it when starting to figure out how to solve the same problems at the same time. Xoliul is right though, with any 3d modeling tutorial you will find useful information… -

If you're looking for a rifle tutorial, and handgun ones don't cut it, you're probably doing it wrong. Tutorials should not be seen as something to guide your hand every step of the way, but rather as an illustration of workflow that you can re-apply. I guess it's important-ish what the end goal for the model is as well. Games/TV/Stills. Could involve keeping some different things in mind. Maybe that could help you pick a tutorial? -
