Hey guys,

iam searching for a high quality Rifle tutorial made in 3ds max. i only found handguns and stuff like this. if you know one i would be really happy if you can tell me where. the best would be if the tutorial artist would use a double turbosmooth method.

thanks so far

If you're looking for a rifle tutorial, and handgun ones don't cut it, you're probably doing it wrong.
Tutorials should not be seen as something to guide your hand every step of the way, but rather as an illustration of workflow that you can re-apply. If you want to follow tut exactly, and can't manage to follow a similar one with a slightly different subject, you need to re-evaluate your methods a bit.

I totally agree with Xoliul on this, but i can also see the point (when you are really new) to see something be created from scratch with all the steps included.
I remember when i where new, i followed alot of tutorials step by step and it looked awesome but when i tried making something original i had loads of truble figuring stuff out, that made me almost reliant on tutorials. Its a really bad habit to get into.
But if I would recomend anything I would tell you to check out Racer445's Ak tutorial.

(or my amazing 10/10 tutorial channel on youtube)

First off you might want to replicate what he is showing in the video, but instead try to make something different with the same methods used in the videos.

I guess it's important-ish what the end goal for the model is as well. Games/TV/Stills. Could involve keeping some different things in mind. Maybe that could help you pick a tutorial?

i will name it "Weapon from beginner"thanks for all your answers so far. @ Xoliul normaly i would agree to your answer, but iam totaly new to weapons and hard surface stuff like this. and its very hard to find high quality and good tutorials who are some kind state of the art. there is so many trash out there. i know a bit about modeling and i just think iam gonna try something out and open a thread where i post my progress. i hope the experience ones in here can help me and give me some advices while iam doing this. i will name it "Weapon from beginner". i hope you can help me a bit there.

    thanks so far :)

If you're fairly new to 3D then I totally understand your want to see how someone might approach the exact thing you trying to create. An there is merit in it when starting to figure out how to solve the same problems at the same time.

Xoliul is right though, with any 3d modeling tutorial you will find useful information that will help you model anything else. Think of tutorials as a way to grow your toolbox of knowledge and those tools can be use in many different ways.

As for a direct video here is a link to a series of videos (I think created by a polycounter if I remember correctly) that walks through creating a shotgun which should give you a lot of the tools and knowledge you need to tackle your model. Hope this helps! Cheers!
