I have the Asus PB278Q ($450) and love it. The semi-matte coating is great. I used a Dell 27" (forget model) at work at the matte coating was a bit too strong. Yes I would recommend some sort of IPS panel. e-IPS at minimum (generally only 6 bit) but better a proper IPS with 8-10 bit depth if color accuracy is important to you. A VA panel would also work well. Definitely avoid any TN panel if art is your main use. All TNs have poor viewing angles/color reproduction. For that…
