Hello This is my first post here and I really appreciate any feed back. I have the latest version of Maya and I get this error: assignCreatedShader "ShaderfxShader" "" ShaderfxShader1 "pCube1"; sets -e -forceElement ShaderfxShader1SG; // ShaderfxShader1SG // // Created shader ShaderfxShader and assigned to the selected…
Hi Kodde, i cant seem to figure out why im getting a darker result in the viewport. I'm getting this error through shaderfx. Is this the cause? "Error compiling shader swatch (shader may still work in viewport).C:\Program Files\Autodesk\Maya2015\bin\Shader@0x000000000E7EF110(61,21-27): error X3004: undeclared identifier…
FWIW, A red/orange shader means the shader code generated is invalid. So it is not related to the textures you input. What viewport mode are you in (dx11 or ogl)? The shader error would usually be printed in the Maya output window I believe.
Thanks for the reply, kodde. 3dsmax 2014 does not support shaderfx. I don't intend to interchange materials made with the shader between Max and Maya. I was asking if your older physical based shader (non-shaderfx) supports max 2014 bc I tried using it and it reported an error. If no, any chance u might bring this to max…
Hey Kodde, Sorry for the lack of a reply. I had a hiatus on 3D work, but i decided to get back in to it and decided to try and get the shader working so i went back in to try and recreate the error i was getting. Unfortunately I'm having a new error, not sure what has changed to completely screw it up but i have installed…
Hey Kodde, Im super happy to see you porting your shader to the shader fx! I've given it a try and am getting nothing but a solid unshaded red material in my VP2. I've tried a few different textures, some png and some tga, same results... I'm using the cube that was supplied with the shader (un_Ditch_River.dds) Im using…
radiancef0rge> Thanks for the tip. Didn't know about this. Seems to be where I load the cube map being the node that calen got an error about. Hmm... Might rework this way of handling the cube map if it causes more issues. EQ> Thanks. No problem. I always just assumed that the term BRDF was any way of approximating…
