I remember there being a thread that listed a whole bunch of tutorials including hand painting ones, but I can't seem to find it after a good amount of searching. Am I just blind? Where did it go?    whaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaattttt? Don't toy with my heart Ott. I've been hurt bad before. Seriously though, that tutorial from Tyson Murphy is really awesome. One of my favorites. Also, Jeff Parrott put this playlist together and it is pretty well done.

   Whatever you do for resources make sure to do your homework on who is actually teaching. It's horrible to have bad (or incorrect) information passed on. Make sure the person teaching has a resume and portfolio you can find. Most of the time I think concept art tutorials and workflow videos help the most.

   This is one of the best ones out there by far. The technique pretty much carries over to 3d projection painting as well. Speaking of which, that might be an area worth focusing on.

   I completely agree with this. It's really about getting the painting workflow down. Once you get that going painting anything is much easier. Then start studying how different materials react to light.
