There we go. there are still a few clunky things i don't like. Notably how you can't select what gets onion skinned or not, hence the background colour work around. Oh one more thing i set the shortcut to turn on onionskin to ctrl+*. Keep in mind that photoshop is a super simple animation program, you can do great work but…
Oh man that workflow looks painful! The Photoshop workflow is a god damned miracle as far as I'm concerned, as it makes the need for crazy workflows go out the window. Allan! cool to see you breaking into the world of animation! I think you need to pay more attention to timing and spacing though, everything here is linear,…
Solid animations all round Muzz I'm no animator (not even close), but I've played with animating paintings/trying pixel art before, just for fun. Something about it coming to life makes it all worth it.
That's right, lets make a 2d high res animation thread. (pixel art is ok too) Right now i just use photoshop CC with video layers for animation, as they finally brought in onion skinning and proper shortcut keys! I'll start off with a ton of visual effects and thing's I've done.
Good to see a 2d animation thread st PC. Some great stuff so far! I'm a flash based animator - though I also animate in PS and ToonBoom. I'm uploading a short vid to Vimeo - tried it as a gif but it was too large.
Those where for a specific project. Still in the works. Dado, is there a larger image of the file you attached? I'm really curious about using Sai for animation.
Cool man! I know it's really limited animation so i can't offer that much feedback on it though. Maybe try and avoid those gradient effects? they can look a bit cheesy when combined with cell shading.
Nice work Highelf. I haven't seen anyone animate their painting before- Really hope to see more of this! Great to see some fx work here Muzz. I initially questioned your sanity when you said you used PS... but shortcuts and ghosting could make a world of difference!
Actually I did have delays on them, not sure if it is because I animated them in CS4, but when I saved them out as a gif the delays didn't seem to carry over. Is there a step I am missing? Really new to animating in photoshop.
