aaronmwolford I was thinking of making one abd using decals or put all the numbers/letters on one sheet, tile it and move it around on a shader instance and blend it in with a lerp or vert paint. In the past, I've tried to put all my decals on one sheet, and then try to crop out what I don't need with the decal actor…
Exactly. Tiling a smaller texture would help greatly. There are a few techniques you can use to make the paint on top look like it's chipping away, but I think the one that'd work best is Vertex Painting in UDK. This way, you can actually make the floor modular (it doesn't appear to be at the moment) and you'll have…
@ZacD I was worrying about that, especially when I started adding the white stripes and decals. I'm going to start laying out the floors and such now and see how it goes together.
Still have quite a bit to go. But here's my WIP so far with some basic textures slapped on with a few decals. Put really generic emissive maps for the lights, and some sort of heat source on the walls for the plants? I dunno, just winging it at the moment. Need to add in more geometry into those bays now, as well as start…
thanks for your crits :) @ genwu : i think the problem with thes stripe will be weaker when i finish the wall and add the decals. @ Higuy : should be one of the easyiest things to make the room longer @ mats effect : youre door is pretty close to the concept, i like it! I wanted to add some more retro to my scene, so i…
Thanks man, this is some really good feedback and pretty helpful. I'll start trying to refine some of these smaller details, especially the materials and back wall. The green was an attempt to add some contrast with the orange everywhere, but not that I look at it, a small bit of blue light seems like a more appropriate…
Alright, you're right. I was wondering if anyone was going to complain about it being annoying :) I was going for one of those "Mass Effect" looking suns, but I think I'll just get rid of it, or at the very least tone it down a bunch. Your scene is looking really nice btw. The only thing I could complain about thus far is…
@mmrashad, It might be a bit late for some healthy constructive crit, but I think there is definitely a lot you could improve on there. The proportions are pretty off - not sure if you posted a picture when you first did it but this should have been addressed earlier on. Some of the textures are really flat, and quite…
My floor piece is coming along finally, any feedback would be great as I'm kinda new to this! The floor piece is 80 tris in all. I started of with just a few modular pieces, one for the end of the panel, one for the middle of the panel and one for the part with the circular indent. I textured them and then duplicated and…
