This movie looks like a bad tabletop RPG campaign or like some kid saw anime for the first time ever and decided to make a movie based on that. Basically if Deviant Art made a movie.
i agree on elysium. after all the dumb films this year i found gravity rather refreshing though. however it probably counts more as a disaster movie than sci fi.
I really like the trailer apart from Milan Kunis. Somehow she always plays the same. We'll see how this goes but I really can't wait for this movie. You think they have a chance to create another masterpiece? http://youtu.be/THVFkk-sEus
Yeah.. No.. I haven't seen a good Sci Fi movie since District 9. And with the horrible abomination Elysium turned out to be I'm completely burned out, even if it is from the Wachowskies :/ Trailer also looks... stupid and generic.
Interesting to see some of the responses here. I treat those kind of movies as a CG showcase. Story always comes second. Ambitious cinema is nice but in my book anything with CG in it is pretty much a given opposite and that's how I treat it. Maybe that's why I know I'll enjoy it :)
cloud atlas was realy disappointing. i didn´t expect anything of that movie and i was still let down. and the trailer doesn´t look too fancy either... channing tatum with eyeliner. how is anyone supposed to take that seriously? also can´t stand that Lana since i saw that outing speech of her. whining about how hard it is…
it indeed looks like a deviantart movie, crowdfunded by a conceptart.org kickstarter or something I wonder if they have really been short on money with this thing, because seriously the only good thing about it right now is abundant, yet very cheesy, cg channing potatohead tatum looks horrid, I hope it's a promising start…
