Is it common to deivate from creating modular pieces in non power of 2 units? In my instance, power of two sizes for snapping is not quite getting me the correct scale that I'm looking for. For example,64 units is just a hair to narrow for they types of doors i'm trying to build. I am working in 32 unit increments to snap…
Why is 64 too narrow? If vehicles need to fit thru these, I would scale down the vehicles a little. Actually, going off the grid is fine, at least for one-offs. As long as you don't extrapolate from that and build a whole area. Depends on your toolset tho, I've worked with one where I could define arbitrary local grids,…
Eric: Thanks, I have read the skyrim modular talk, but I think I could benefit from another read-through of it. It is actually an interior doorway for a human to walk through, not intended for a vehicle to fit. I may post some pictures as I get further into it, and if I still have questions. Sounds like my scale may be…
Another point, is that you might want to build some of the wall into the doorframe and once oyu build up a full doorframe with access panel and eveything you can usually bump the size up to the next grid unit w/o worrying about the actual width of the door itself.
