I was watching and reading tutorials on modular environment modeling, but they all are for buildings and geometric environment. How well does modular modeling work for an organic environment full of dirt, rock, and plants?
My main hard drive died, and took out Skyrim with it. Now I don't have the installation DVD with me. It seems modularity is less precise when it comes to organic environments.
yea most organic environments I have worked on is a pretty simple terrain mesh with 4-5 different rocks trees etc scattered and crashed through it in interesting formations that match reference photos.
Well, organic environments don't really need to snap together nicely... So you can get away with a lot of intersecting geometry, blend textures on the ground, stick rocks to hide any seams and you'll be good :)
